TSRI’s Application Blueprint® is a HTML representation of the “As-Is” legacy code, complete with hyperlinked identifiers and diagrams, charts, and graphs, even for applications with multiple source languages. This allows for your current staff to easily understand the structure and flow of the existing legacy application prior to transformation, and can be accessible via internal web servers so tens or even hundreds of developers can easily access it.
TSRI’s clients use the Application Blueprint® to reduce maintenance expense and time, both for applications that will be retained for many more years, as well as those currently in the process of transformation to a modern language and architecture. The Application Blueprint® also helps identify methods suitable for refactoring, including highly complex methods, those using similar or redundant code, dead code, etc.
The Blueprint User Guide included as part of a code documentation project includes helpful tools for navigating through the documentation, like the COBOL screenshot below.

Each index, listed on the left allows viewing code alphabetically by record, or by some attribute such as complexity (shown). Across the top are acronyms for the various charts and diagrams available, including: Structure Chart, Control Flow Graph, Cause & Effect Graph, State Transition Table, State Model Graph, Structured Systems Analysis & Structured Design State Machine Model, etc.
