COBOL Refactoring - State of Oregon OPERS

The Oregon's Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS) serves approximately 300,000 employee members, inactive members and retirees from more than 850 public employers. OPERS required a major maintenance action of the OPERS Benefit Estimation Subsystem (BESS) and Benefit Calculation Subsystem (BCSS) to address changes in Oregon State retirement regulations. TSRI's automated refactoring capability was used to consolidate the applications and remove dead and redundant code.

AT&T engaged with TSRI to complete modernization of their legacy COBOL & CICS based Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM) System to Java. To achieve AT&T’s goals, TSRI’s tuned its JANUS Studio® transformation engine to parse and transform the z/OS COBOL application. TSRI's engineers employed their 99.992% automated modernization solutions to transform all 84,609 lines of IBM z/OS COBOL to Java in just 1 months. TSRI transformed, documented, refactored, and rearchitected all code for deployment on AWS.
