2005 - CSC - FAA Modernization

"CSC Selects TSRI to Support FAA Modernization"

Kirkland, WA. (January 6, 2005) – Computer Science Corporation (CSC) has awarded The Software Revolution, Inc. (TSRI) an Indefinite Delivery Order/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract to begin the documentation process of the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA’s) Enhanced Traffic Management System (ETMS). TSRI’s efforts will ensure that CSC has a detailed understanding of the structure and flow of the ETMS applications code and database prior to making key ETMS modernization decisions.

The FAA’s ETMS is a major system component of the National Airspace System (NAS) and is used to manage the flow of all air traffic. CSC’s contract to modernize portions of the NAS is estimated to be valued at $589 million over the next 7 years. The contract is designed to increase the capacity of the nation’s airspace as well as reduce costs by enabling airlines, research organizations and the FAA to make collaborative decisions that optimize the flow of air traffic and minimize the adverse effects of inclement weather.

Greg Tadlock, TSRI’s Vice President, Sales & Marketing said, “TSRI looks forward to being a long-term support contractor to CSC as it embarks on its efforts to modernize portions of the National Airspace System. This project is a perfect example of where the expertise of CSC and the power of TSRI’s automated legacy system modernization technology can be joined to solve a complex problem that is of vital national importance.”
